As we say goodbye to 2024 and hello to 2025, experts around the world have announced what they anticipate to be the color trends of 2025. From bold takes to familiar classics, here are some of the top colors for 2025.
Remember when dark browns were in? We certainly do. Mocha, Caramel, Umber, and Chocolate seemed to dominate the interior design industry. Well, according to Pantone, the color of the year is Mocha Mousse 17-1230. The pick is a whipped version of its older fashionable siblings with a softer pastel tone. Like the delicious sounding dessert the color is named after, Pantone aims to invoke a sense of comfort “and the indulgence of simple pleasures that we can gift and share with others”.
Sticking to the moody classics with a twist, Benjamin Moore selected Cinnamon Slate 2113-40 as their color of the year. The self described color is “a delicate mix of heathered plum and velvety brown” creating this beautiful deep purple that will add the perfect amount of drama to a space.
Purple, the color of royalty, seems to be leading the way for 2025 color of the year picks. Glidden announced their color of the year to be Purple Basil – a deliciously true purple. The color marries the wealth of the royal color pallet with modern boldness creating a color that truly encompasses self-expression.
Sherwin-Williams didn’t stop at one color of the year, but instead picked nine vastly different yet complementary colors for their 2025 Color Capsule of the Year. Grounded, Sunbleached, Chartreuse, Bosc Pear, White Snow, Rain Cloud, Clove, Malabar, and Mauve Finery are the nine lucky colors selected for 2025. The colors represent a “modern, fresh take on color, with a balanced and usable assortment of shades”. With the wide array of options, there’s no doubt that the American paint company will have at least one color that will pique your interest.
It seems like the era of naturally neutral is as long gone as 2024 and statement color is back. J&L is here to help you choose what 2025 color is right for your home. Let’s see what the new year has in store for your home.
