FCC Publishes 988 Georouting FNPRM in Fed. Reg.

On May 29, 2024, the FCC published in the Federal Register the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (“NPRM”) seeking comment on a proposal to require wireless carriers to implement a georouting solution for calls to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (“988 Lifeline” or “Lifeline”), thereby setting the comment and reply comment dates.

Comments are due on or before June 28, 2024.

Reply comments are due on or before July 29, 2024.

The Wireline Competition Bureau also released a Public Notice on the comment dates.
