FCC Publishes Alaska Connect Fund FNPRM in Fed. Reg.

On December 4, 2024, the FCC published in the Federal Register the Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (“FNPRM”) seeking comment on implementing the Alaska Connect Fund (“ACF”), thereby setting the comment and reply comment dates.  The FCC is seeking comment on: methods to determine support amounts in overlapping service areas; how to eliminate duplicative support; phase II service requirements; distributing support to unserved areas; tribal consent requirements; incentivizing ACF recipients to deploy networks with Open RAN; and other factors affecting the ACF.

Comments are due on or before February 3, 2025.

Reply comments are due on or before March 4, 2025.
