FCC Publishes Correction to Compliance Dates in Fed. Reg. for 100% HAC R&O

On December 27, 2024, the FCC published a correction in the Federal Register to the compliance dates originally outlined in the November 13, 2024, Federal Register publication of the Report and Order (“R&O”) requiring all wireless handset models offered for sale or use in the United States after a transition period to be fully hearing-aid compatible (“HAC”).  Only one compliance date has changed from our previous update.

The date by which non-nationwide service providers must ensure that 100% of their handsets are HAC compliant, as defined in the FCC’s rules, was changed from June 12, 2028, to June 13, 2028.
