  • JULY OPEN MEETING
    • On 7/11, the FCC released the Agenda for the July Open Meeting scheduled for July 18, 2024 at 10:30 AM, which includes g a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on handset unlocking and a Report and Order on expediting the transition to NG911, among other items.   • SIM SWAPPING AND PORT OUT FRAUD
    • On 7/5, the FCC released an Order waiving the compliance deadline for all rules adopted in the SIM Swap and Port-Out Fraud Order until OMB completes its review. For more information and to view a copy of the item, see our post
  • CONGRESS
    • On 7/9, the House Energy and Commerce Committee Subcommittee on Communications and Technology held a hearing entitled “The Fiscal Year 2025 Federal Communications Commission Agency Budget.” All five commissioners from the FCC were in attendance and topics included net neutrality, digital discrimination, the Universal Service Fund, the Affordable Connectivity Program, and spectrum auction authority, among other things.
