WestXDC Community Focus – Winter 2023

We’re digging into the social pulse of Northern Virginia’s business communities this winter, listening and learning – as we see anxiousness across the ecosystem – though in balance with socialization. By this we mean business owners and networks among our Vistage, BNI, Chamber, NexCo and other interactions are on the one hand, considering circling the wagons in anticipation of general stagnation or slowdown in consumer and B2B spending, with persistent inflation and recession evidence (slowdown in new business, consolidation of business expenses, uptick in layoff concerns). On the other hand, the in-person event and networking has exploded, post-pandemic, and the business community more than ever is solidifying its partnerships, finding new opportunities, sharing new approaches.

B2G investments and government spending aren’t yet slowing, so a bit of a haven if you’re connected to existing programs and Primes, have customer relationships, are ready for government work. Go to the holiday parties, your customers are attending – and cement value-centric, relationship-based, mission-tuned partnerships.

Let us know here what you’re seeing, what might help our community, what groups to join, and where next to go!
